Disable Debian Filesystem Checking In Boot Troubleshooter

In this guide, we’re going to find out some of the possible causes that might cause the Debian filesystem checker to be disabled at startup, and then provide some possible fixes that you can try to fix the problem.

    fsck calculates the number of file blocks and compares that block to the number of blocks normally captured by inode claims. If the inode is miscalculated, fsck suggests someone fix it. Each inode has a 64-bit field.

    On Linux, whenever a filesystem is mounted at safe time, or its fsck has been growing longer than a few days ago, the PC runs fsck on it as soon as the server restarts. Depending on the size of our filesystem, fsck can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.

    Now, if we need a quick reboot, we can disable fsck checking, although this is not recommended.
    There are several ways to disable fsck.

    debian disable file system check on boot

    1. update / etc / fstab
    The “Continue for” column in / etc / fstab is used to define the order in which fsck instructions perform system checks on reboot. For the root filesystem / it should be 1, for other systems the filesystem should be 2. If many people want to disable fsck visit for a specific filesystem, we can definitely put 0 in the last column.

    $ grep nofsck / etc / fstab
    / dev / sda2В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В NOF / MKNT / . DEFAULT 0

    2 0. Use tune2fs to swap filesystem settings
    To view your current settings:

    $ tune2fs / dev / sda2 | egrep -i ‘mount counter | check “
    Number of frames: 1 1 1
    Maximum number of frames: 21
    Last check: Sa March 24 16:15:33 2012
    Check interval: 15552000 (6 months)
    Next check after: В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В В , September 20, 16:15:33, 2012 edition

    This definitely speaks for itself, as my / dev / sda2 system should be checked after 21 mounts or after 20-30. 16:15:33 September 2012

    $ tune2fs -c 0 4 -i / dev / sda2
    tune2fs 1.41. (May 17, 2010)
    Setting the maximum number 12 in brackets to -1
    Set the interval between observations to 0 seconds.

    $ tune2fs / dev / sda2 | egrep ‘go up -I account | check “
    Number of frames: 1 1 1
    Maximum number of frames: -1
    Last check: Sa 24March 16:15:33 2012
    Check interval: 0 ()

    $ / sbin / shutdown -rf now

    The -f flags tell the system to ignore fsck for all filesystems throughout the reboot. Unlike fstab in conjunction with the tune2fs methods, it only takes effect during the current restart; fsck is not permanently removed.

    From time to time (every 30 downloads) my individual Linux system decides to check the filesystem for errors. I’m sure what needs to be done needs to be done. Sometimes

    Should I disable fsck?

    On Linux, when you import the filesystem into “fstab”, you must set the FSCK option. However, this option checks to see if the fsck time of the last filesystem was longer than a few days ago. Fsck can take several minutes or even hours to start, depending on the size of our filesystem. If you need a powerful boot, I recommend disabling the FSCK at boot time.

    but I need a laptop to sew shoes quickly. I have an urgent task and never need to wait for fsck to complete (this may take 10 minutes). How can I restrict viewing in this case?

    The only honest (generally, workaround) solution I’ve implemented so far is to go to auto fsck and now run it on websites from time to time. I don’t like this leadership approach because I have to remember when it was the last race of the season.

    I want to click ь Ctrl + C to cancel the file system check. Let the filesystem checker run on boot time!

    How should the fsck run so it doesn’t ask for a confirmation of actions to be performed?

    Run fsck simultaneously on all filesystems If customers want to check when all filesystems with fsck are in at least one pass, pass the -A flag. This option iterates over a specific etc / fstab file in one go. To avoid prompts, add the -y we talked about.

    How do I stop file system check fsck on boot?

    At that time. Restart your computer, and from the grub menu, click e, which will allow you to change the startup options.Infusionsmart. To do this, edit / etc / default / grub.Remove fsck for initramfs.systemd fsck.Removed audit support from autoload 04/20.

    To completely ignore fsck once instead of permanently disabling it with fstab plus tune2fs , try the following option :

    1. Temporarily use GRUB’s fastboot option before starting. For more information see the link to this site: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters
    2. touch / fastboot should also ignore the custom fsck check next time families start

    tune2fs does its job. This allows a person to view / change the filesystem settings:

    debian disable file system check on boot

      # tune2fs -d / dev / system_vg / tmp_lv | grep - checkingInstallation volume: 8Maximum number of frames: 34Last check: Sat Oct 29 12:44:27 PM 2015Inspection interval: 15552000 (6 months)Next Save After: Thu Apr 26, 12:44:27 PM 2016

    You can change both parameters toenable / disable them or force the file system check on next reboot, etc.

    I suggest making the change by removing Max Deployments and Verification Interval for notebooks.

      # tune2fs -c 0 -i just 0 / dev / system_Vg / tmp_lv

    fsck provides an alternative that delays the robot check when the laptop is running on battery power; that is, if the filesystem is configured to check when you do every 30 mounts, it will interpret it as if it were running on battery power every 70 mounts. Most modern distributions are capable of this. However, eit is checked only at startup.

    What you can do is when the automatic comparison starts, unplug the laptop and then enable fsck to reset somehow, (Ctrl -C hardcoded, …)
